As the full Volunteer Coordinator at Horizons, your efforts will expand awareness of this critical program, ensuring that more individuals in need receive nutritious meals and essential social interaction. You will oversee the delivery of meals to our Meals on Wheels clients, ensuring timely and efficient service. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to identify operational efficiencies related to volunteer management and client deliveries, making a tangible impact on our organization's ability to serve our community.

To be successful as the Volunteer Coordinator, you will need to possess a unique combination of skills and experience. An associate's degree, combined with 1-3 years of related experience in coordinating and supporting volunteers, will provide you with a solid foundation for this role. In addition to your educational and professional background, you should have excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple aspects of the volunteer program effectively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential in recruiting and engaging volunteers and coordinating with staff members. You will also need to be proficient in using software and tools that support volunteer management and meal delivery operations.

The ability to think critically and identify operational efficiencies in volunteer and client delivery processes will contribute to the overall success of the program. Additionally, having a customer-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups will be invaluable in creating a positive and inclusive volunteer environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Associate's degree and 1-3 years related experience in coordinating and supporting volunteers
  • Development experience and or community collaboration may be substituted for volunteer experience.
